Romans 8:26 is GOLD. We do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. Haaay, now! Haaaaay!
I am currently exploring wordless prayer. I can’t understand why nobody ever taught me about it. I recently read that Brother C. S. Lewis preferred to pray without words, and only used words when necessary. I was amazed. To kneel in prayer and be so in tune with God that the Holy Spirit begins to help us, interceding with wordless groanings? There are higher heights, brethren.
What are we really chasing after in this world that takes all our time so that we can’t set apart time for communion with God? Psalm 37: 5-7 (MSG) says,
Open up before God, keep nothing back;
he’ll do whatever needs to be done:
He’ll validate your life in the clear light of day
and stamp you with approval at high noon.
Quiet down before God,
be prayerful before him.
Don’t bother with those who climb the ladder,
who elbow their way to the top.
“ATM machine” (Automated Teller Machine machine) and “PIN number” (Personal Identification Number number)… RAS Syndrome (Redundant Acronym Syndrome syndrome).
“BVN number” (Bank Verification Number number) is also an example of RAS Syndrome.
Simply say “ATM”, “PIN”, “BVN”. There’s no need to tack on an extra “machine” or “number”. #YouNeedAnEditor
I hear people say, “Don’t get a PhD, you will chase men away” or “Stop laughing so much, it may put men off” and I wonder, is a woman supposed to dim her light just so that a man can marry her?
Should she downplay her intelligence, tone down her brilliance, restrain her talent and essentially minimise herself just so that men will not be intimidated? Most importantly, why would I want to be married to a man who is intimidated by the full expression of who I am? How can this person be my husband? It makes no sense at all.
Osemhen is one of the two writers I have ever reblogged, and it’s not hard to see why. She’s just a delight to read! Here’s her take on the health benefits of jollof rice.
