Prayer Without Words

Romans 8:26 is GOLD. We do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. Haaay, now! Haaaaay!

I am currently exploring wordless prayer. I can’t understand why nobody ever taught me about it. I recently read that Brother C. S. Lewis preferred to pray without words, and only used words when necessary. I was amazed. To kneel in prayer and be so in tune with God that the Holy Spirit begins to help us, interceding with wordless groanings? There are higher heights, brethren.

What are we really chasing after in this world that takes all our time so that we can’t set apart time for communion with God? Psalm 37: 5-7 (MSG) says,

Open up before God, keep nothing back;
he’ll do whatever needs to be done:
He’ll validate your life in the clear light of day
and stamp you with approval at high noon.
Quiet down before God,
be prayerful before him.
Don’t bother with those who climb the ladder,
who elbow their way to the top.

Selah…
