Let’s Talk About the Prostitute Who Became a Princess

Do you worry about how people see you? What people think of you? I can categorically tell you that what matters is not whether people consider you worthy. What matters is God’s opinion of you. Nobody knows this better than Rahab.

Like the other three “unbelieving” women mentioned in Matthew 1, Rahab’s place in Jesus’ lineage is in itself is a testament to the very grace that drew salvation’s plan. They were raised by God to become part of His Son’s ancestry, in order that He who came to save sinners, Himself being born of sinners, might destroy the sins of all.

Jericho was the worst of the cities of the Amorites, and as a result God commanded Joshua to destroy both the city and its residents. Joshua sent out two spies to check out Jericho in preparation for war and when they got there, they hid in the home of a prostitute, Rahab, leading to her life and the lives of her family members being spared. Here are a few noteworthy things about “Rahab the Harlot”.

Let’s Talk About the Boy Who Killed a Giant

One of the most delightfully inspiring stories of all time can be found in 1st Samuel Chapter 17; the awesome account of a small shepherd boy who brought down the giant champion intimidating his people.

King Saul was afraid. The Israelites were afraid. They thought their doom was certain.

Have you ever been threatened by giant? Have you ever had to face something so much bigger and stronger than you, that you believed it was unsolvable? Do you still have to deal with a giant today?

Your giant may be a need; for a job, life partner or the fruit of the womb. It may be a weakness; a habit you cannot break that is destroying you gradually, for instance. Or it may be your circumstances; a sickness that leaves you bedridden, or even a wayward child.

Regardless of what shape it takes, a giant is always from the enemy’s camp; what it wants to do to you is not what God desires for you.

Does Your Besetting Sin Make You a Hypocrite?

The Bible makes it clear to us that the struggle between the flesh and the Spirit will not end as long as we are in these bodies. What the flesh wants is in direct opposition to what the Spirit wants (Galatians 5:17). Every true believer has a personal weakness, character flaw or habit that they want to change. So the fact that you’re still struggling with a weight, or a sin that easily trips you up, does not make you a hypocrite. You are not alone.

How Do You Ask a New Friend Out?

A few days ago, I was in a supermarket shopping when I saw a young lady walk in. I liked her immediately.

There was something about the way she carried herself that was at once elegant and girl-next-door, and when she looked my way I saw the spark of intelligence in her eyes.

I wanted to be friends. Not just for those reasons but for the inexplicable reason that people just speak to something inside us. I used to wonder how, as toddlers in kindergarten and children in primary school, we gravitated towards some kids and not others. We couldn’t explain it then, and we can’t even now. We just like certain people.

I walked up to this lady and said hello.

How to Raise a Rotten Nigerian

Children are the leaders of tomorrow. They are also the insensitive, fraudulent, unconscionably corrupt politicians, public servants and citizens of tomorrow. They are the ones who will ruin countless lives by looting whatever is left of our treasury without flinching. They are the ones who will use their office to make cringe-worthy pronouncements, and laugh at same. They are the ones who, when elected into public office, will spend their time making stupid videos to upload on social media while whole sections of the nation are slaughtered.

Want to raise some of these? Don’t worry, you don’t have to do much. It has more to do with the things you don’t do.
