100 Words — Discipline

The discipline to do the little (important!) things day in day out, is my greatest need right now.

My success rests on it. I’ve known for a long time that without discipline I can never really become the woman I am created to be.

From singers to athletes, discipline has been the watchword.

So, despite having tried before, I want to try again. Starting tomorrow I want to make yet another attempt to use my ALL my hours WISELY, not just some of them.

“At the core of every successful person there is one common thing: discipline.” ~ Cameron Diaz

100 Words — Distracted by Social Media?

Is social media a productive use of your time, or is it a distraction?

It’s a fantastic tool, when used as that: a tool.

For me, there’s also the need to ensure that it’s no longer taking the place of real life interactions, as it has for years. That’s a huge distraction from the art of living.

Johnson Abbaly (on Facebook) succinctly expressed my thoughts concerning this distraction from “real life” as I consider it:

“Plan to convert your interactions and engagements into real life meets. People are not icons, avatars and emojis. They are flesh and blood. Discover them!”

100 Words — Bye, Comfort Zone!

Stepping out of your comfort zone is one of the hardest things to do; it’s called your comfort zone for a reason.

However, it is an absolute requirement for a life fully lived.

I’ve spent the last five years running an editorial services business from home, so leaving my comfort zone has changed me a lot in the last six months. Starting my second business has meant re-learning how to work with a team, make calls instead of typing messages, walk up to strangers and introduce myself, and so on.

Has it been worth it? Yes, totally.

Step out. Live.
